Finally saw the new Tron movie.

LOVE the production design by Darren Gilford and team, beautiful homage to 1980s design thinking – and the original work of Syd Mead, Moebius and Peter Lloyd.

Makes me wanna thumb thru my old Industrial Design textbook, Ungar’s Rendering In Mixed Media. Wear leg warmers. Rediscover Patrick Nagel.

AND Michael Sheen IS the lovechild of Martin Short (below) and David Bowie.

The first Tron seems so far away.

‘On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me  . . .  a beer.’

I still find myself humming this this time of year.

Cause I can never remember the lyrics of the real Twelve Days of Christmas. The McKenzie Brothers’ version (above) I haven’t forgotten.

The audio is from this classic 1982 album. New animation by Animax, company co-founded by original McKenzie bother Dave Thomas. New tee vee series coming soon.

I actually used to draw a fake McKenzie Brothers comic strip for my high school newspaper, circa 1984. If I find copies buried somewhere, I’ll post em.

Or if they like, really suck, then I won’t post em, eh?
