Chandler on Chandler

A few months back, Claudia Chandler Brocato of the Chandler Family Association contacted me about Chandler 42 – my 1994 contribution to the ‘messy typewriter’ font genre.

And they ended up giving me a really nice write up in their quarterly newsletter. Just click the above image to read/download a one page PDF.

Murderous gifting

I’m a dog person, not a cat person.

But cats seem to like me. The neighborhood cat – Eddie – fell in love with me, bringing me all sorts of dead things.

I’m also a bird person. And I’m not very happy about Eddie’s bird gifts. And in exchange, Eddie isn’t too keen about our two dogs.

Tobias Wong, designer

‘Indeed, Mr. Wong created a stir in 2001 when he acquired Mr. Starck’s plastic Bubble Chair before it was unveiled in the United States, installed a light bulb inside, and transformed it into a piece he called ‘This Is A Lamp.”

Here’s two overviews of World Cup typography: The work of Paul Barnes and the work of Yomar Augusto – over at The FontFeed.

Twinkie ingredients

Wheat flower, folic acid

‘A popular rule of thumb among proponents of healthy food is that the fewer ingredients there are in something, better it is for you. With a remarkable 37 or so ingredients, many of which are polysyllabic chemical compounds, Twinkies would seem to embody the antithesis of that rule.’

Photography by Dwight Eschliman. Details about his ’37 or so Ingredients’ project (and book) here.
