12 days, you hoser

‘On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me  . . .  a beer.’

I still find myself humming this this time of year.

Cause I can never remember the lyrics of the real Twelve Days of Christmas. The McKenzie Brothers’ version (above) I haven’t forgotten.

The audio is from this classic 1982 album. New animation by Animax, company co-founded by original McKenzie bother Dave Thomas. New tee vee series coming soon.

I actually used to draw a fake McKenzie Brothers comic strip for my high school newspaper, circa 1984. If I find copies buried somewhere, I’ll post em.

Or if they like, really suck, then I won’t post em, eh?

Our Industrial Christmas

Tomorrow night starting at 8 pm (PST): Free digital download of Our Industrial Christmas. To get your copy, click ‘attend’ on this Facebook page. A link to the free EP will be posted Christmas Eve 2010.

The ‘event’ is the EP itself. If that makes sense. Facebook account required, of course.

Wolf France

The incredible Chelsea Wolfe – local recording artist and vocal phenom – has the opportunity of touring France this coming March. All tied around the vinyl release of her new album, The Grime and the Glow.

As anyone in the music industry knows, the musicians aren’t the rich ones – and Chelsea is hoping to raise enough money to cover her travel costs. A small donation will help; anything over five bucks will snag you a parcel of personalized album artwork and never-released songs.

Donate here.

Below, Chelsea performing Flatlands in San Francisco. And if you’re in the Sacramento area, Chelsea will be at the new Crocker tonight at six.
