I always thought the Quaker Oats guy was Benjamin Franklin.<\/p>\n

He actually started as a printer\u2019s cut \u2013\u00a0clip art, in today\u2019s terms \u2013\u00a0that was selected to go on the Oats packaging to show \u2018purity.\u2019 Quakers always looked pure, let\u2019s sell some oats with that in mind. <\/em><\/p>\n

Benjamin Franklin was really smart, not quite pure though. <\/p>\n\r\n\t
