{"id":22259,"date":"2010-11-05T11:51:28","date_gmt":"2010-11-05T18:51:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mehallo.com\/blog\/?p=22259"},"modified":"2010-11-11T00:40:54","modified_gmt":"2010-11-11T08:40:54","slug":"the-escoffier-font-giveaway-enter-to-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mehallo.com\/blog\/archives\/22259","title":{"rendered":"The Escoffier font giveaway, enter to win!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/new.myfonts.com\/fonts\/steve-mehallo\/escoffier-capitaux\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mehallo.com\/B\/Escoffier_mehallo.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s time for a good old fashioned font giveaway.<\/p>\n<p>Escoffier Capitaux is my tribute to culinary legend <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Auguste_Escoffier\" target=\"_blank\">Auguste Escoffier<\/a> &#8211; and is based on the 1920s lettering (done while in France) of commercial illustrator\/fashion designer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/1851452362?tag=stevemehallo-20&#038;camp=213381&#038;creative=390973&#038;linkCode=as4&#038;creativeASIN=1851452362&#038;adid=1VD9MEWHV46R6HC6A17P&#038;\" target=\"_blank\">Ernst Dryden.<\/a> The font also has some Herb Lubalin-like <a href=\"http:\/\/typophile.com\/node\/48242\"target=\"_blank\">ligatures<\/a> and a bit of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Garamond\"target=\"_blank\">Garamond<\/a> thrown in.<\/p>\n<p>Very French.<\/p>\n<p><strong>to enter<\/strong><br \/>\nAll you have to do is leave a comment on this post.
