Drawn in 1990 by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tobias_Frere-Jones\" target=\"_blank\">Tobias Frere-Jones;<\/a> now one of the co-owners of <a href=\"http:\/\/typography.com\" target=\"_blank\">H&#038;FJ.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love how this face captures the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/art\/reviews\/van-doesburg--the-international-avantgarde-tate-modern-london-1891448.html\">orthogonals of the De Stijl movement,<\/a> of which Rietveld&#8217;s famous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moma.org\/collection\/object.php?object_id=4044\">Red Blue Chair<\/a> was one of their icons. <\/p>\n<p>Wish this Rietveld type were available somewhere.<\/p>\n<p><em>Found via a book that I used to have &#8211; it vanished into a murky, dusty pile many, many years ago<\/em><\/p>\n\r\n\t<div style=\"float: left; \">\r\n\t\t<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/share\" class=\"twitter-share-button\" data-count=\"horizontal\" data-text=\"Rietveld: Interpreted as a font\" data-url=\"http:\/\/mehallo.com\/blog\/archives\/20276\"  data-via=\"mehallo\">Tweet<\/a>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\"><\/script>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Experimental typeface inspired by the work of Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964).
