‘Indeed, Mr. Wong created a stir in 2001 when he acquired Mr. Starck\u2019s plastic Bubble Chair before it was unveiled in the United States, installed a light bulb inside, and transformed it into a piece he called ‘This Is A Lamp.”<\/em><\/p>\n

That was one of my favorite stunts. Read that Philippe Starck<\/a> was furious. And I really loved Tobias Wong’s work. <\/p>\n

I was saddened to see this article appear<\/a> on Twitter (via Retinart<\/a>). <\/p>\n

I loved his take on screwing with the norm. Fucking the establishment while being one step ahead of it. <\/p>\n

We all have some form of demons, in many cases it drives incredible work. We also have health problems that often can’t be cured. Some are worse than others.<\/p>\n

That’s the theory in this case, sleepwalking, night terrors. One’s dream state can be so real; I follow a theory that dreams are just another part of our awake state. There can be a fine line between the two. His death may have been suicide or something he wasn’t even aware he was doing. No one can ever really know what’s in one’s head before they take their own life.<\/p>\n

There is a lot of suicide in the creative field. And I personally I know too many who have done themselves in. I see it as robbing the world of great talent. Self inflicted or something unexplained has taken over.<\/p>\n

His subversiveness was incredible.<\/p>\n
